The Apuan Mountain Range in Carrara, Italy is where Calacatta marble is mined. This color, which has taken the world by storm, has come to represent luxury and opulence. The colours mined here have a bright white background with a foreground of striking, dramatic veins that range in tone from brown/tan to grey and gold. Translated verbatim Raiz means roots. This Calacatta Raiz is gently and so very soft putting down grey roots across the surface over a light grey undertone. 

These two elements combine in such a lovely way to form a delicate root-like unity with the monochromatic motif.
